WHAT NOT TO BRING
Dangerous Items
Inappropriate clothing
Youth are not permitted to have cars at FSY, so older youth should not drive themselves to FSY unless someone will be taking their car home following registration.
Do not bring valuable items such as portable speakers, stereos, or gaming devices as we cannot guarantee the security of these items.
Mobile phones are approved at FSY, based on the following guidelines:
As convenient as mobile phones are, they can be a frustrating and unwelcome distraction to both the user and to other people around you. The atmosphere at FSY is both spiritual and social. Mobile phone use (including texting) typically isolates users.
Mobiles should be used to study the scriptures, to share uplifting spiritual experiences, and to access other gospel content within the gospel library including FSY music.
Mobiles should not be used during organised meetings, devotionals or classes unless invited to do so by the presenters.
Mobiles may be confiscated if they are used inappropriately during FSY.
If youth need to contact their parents, they can do so during free scheduled time or in the evening prior to lights out.
If youth choose to bring their mobiles, they are personally responsible for the safe keeping of their device.
Before FSY:
Install Gospel Library, Gospel Living, and FamilySearch apps.
Un-install/delete all inappropriate apps, content or media.
During FSY:
Follow the Church’s Guidelines outlined in "Taking Charge of Technology" and make wise choices to uplift and improve the FSY experience for yourself and others.
Accommodation is mixture of individual rooms with shared bathrooms and rooms that can accommodate two (2) youth in a room with an ensuite bathroom. Dorm buildings vary in size from 6 to 10 rooms per floor and some dorm buildings have a larger capacity.
